About the Farm:Situated on 3 1/2 acres (it's almost whimsical to call our little place a farm! ), we grow and preserve all of our family's vegetables, keep a small flock of hens, and maintain bee hives in the local hay fields.
The marine clay soil of coastal Maine, while rich in nutrients, is heavy, and it warms slowly in the Spring. By composting and adding organic nutrients to the soil, recycling everything back into the earth, we have created rich productive gardens and an abundant surplus which we sell at our farm stand.
Our recycling and composting philosophy led one neighbor to refer to our place as a "Waste-not, Want-not" farm. The name stuck!
